I laugh when I hear my girlfriends saying that they refuse to come out of quarantine 30 pounds heavier!  It seems everyone is eating more especially those who find themselves working from home.  While I hadn’t thought about it much until chatting with my friends, I know that many are struggling to stay active.  And, without intentionality, weight gain is certainly possible.

Something I have adopted is to MOVE & PRAY!  Most days I run and other days I walk.  While I do that, my focus is prayer.  Most of us are under stay at home orders, self-quarantining and perhaps getting less movement than normal.   The temptation is to become less active and to stop exercising.  However, now more than ever, is the time to exercise!  We all know the scientific evidence that exercise boosts our endorphins and helps get our ‘happy juices’ flowing.  For me, a good run helps relieve so much stress, some of which I didn’t even realize I had!  In addition, if the exercise you do is outdoors, it grants you the opportunity to breathe fresh air, change your position and clear your thinking.  Exercise is an integral part of self-care!

Just as important is feeding your soul!  While you move, pray.  While you work out, talk to God.  Have an inspiration or an intention in mind when you begin your routine.  It will cause your thoughts to focus on positivity and open your mind to creative thinking.

We have the potential to come out of quarantine better than we went in!  What if we use this time to embrace good habits and set the course for a healthier lifestyle?  You can share your quarantine fitness with others to show that you not only survived, but you are thriving!  Comment below on what your fitness routine looks like!  #move&praychallenge
