Is anyone feeling overloaded, overwhelmed and frazzled these days? You are not alone! Even more, it doesn’t make you any less of a woman to admit that it’s been difficult to keep up! Honestly, I wish I had it together, but don’t believe that hype…I don’t. I have struggled like so many moms to work, homeschool and maintain my own home. Patience has been tested. Self-control has been stretched!
But, they say pressure brings out the best in you. I agree that it certainly presents the opportunity to understand yourself differently. The real you emerges. It’s interesting that there’s hidden strength in us that only pressure releases. Almost like when a person is placed in a crisis and adrenaline flows allowing them to complete super-human feats.
TIPS TO LIVE BY
One: Take small steps.
I’ve found that I am capable of juggling all the responsibilities that arise when I focus on one small step at a time.
Two: Stop procrastinating.
I’m learning to take the steps necessary to follow through on tasks (like actually making time to clean out the closet and not simply dreaming about how good it will look one day when I do).
Three: Laugh and enjoy.
Laughing naturally lifts your spirits. Laugh in the midst of the chaotic times and enjoy the days that are simple and unhurried.
I hope you are finding joy in your days! Laundry always awaits, someone is always calling “mommy” and dishes are an unending pile that don’t wash themselves. But, with all that, there is an inner ability to handle it and a strength you didn’t know you had.
It’s a crazy time, but you’re doing it, you’re making it work, you’re adjusting, adapting and moving forward. Of that you should be proud and applaud your accomplishment!
