Get up, work out, shower, wake up kids, fix lunches, figure out breakfast, off to school, go to work, home again, homework, after school activities, dinner, bed and repeat. Whew! Mom life is exhausting!
You are not alone. Navigating motherhood and daily life is challenging! We all have experienced mind-numbing days that leave you feeling headachy and fatigued. Sometimes, I get so overwhelmed that I feel like I’m literally floating in a fog from one thing to the next.
Then, the other day, I had a moment that warmed my heart. I was sitting on the back patio and the kids were laughing, playing and enjoying themselves to the full. I smiled and thought, “This is what I live for.” In that moment, I exhaled… and next I took a deep, cleansing breath.
In the rush of life, I’m training myself to exhale and breathe. So often, we subconsciously hold our breath waiting for the next shoe to drop. But, what would happen if we reminded ourselves to exhale… and breath? You may find yourself able to be present with your kids to enjoy their laughter. You may find yourself remembering what’s most significant. Perhaps you’ll even smile to yourself in the moment and say, “This is what I live for.”
