2020 has been off to a slow start for me!  I know that’s not what you expect to hear on a blog that’s about health and exercise!  Trust me, I’ve questioned it myself.

What I’m learning is that sometimes the body needs rest and this is okay.  If I continue to hold myself to the same regimen when the body needs a change in routine, it will only leave me frustrated.  I know I’m not by myself here!  Is anyone else out there who just couldn’t get up in time for that 5:30am run or the early morning exercise class?

Give yourself a break.  Your 2020 may not begin with you running a marathon.  Instead, you may find yourself simply shooting to attend a regular exercise class or run a few miles at a time.  Don’t be discouraged.  The motivation will come back, you will run the race, you will reach your fitness and weight goals.  But, extend some grace to yourself.  Trust your body to take the rest it needs, back off of the rigorous schedule and enjoy the moments of mindful down time.
